All 19 coronavirus patients admitted to an intensive care unit in Egypt have died after the oxygen supply to the critical care ward failed, according to the Middle East Monitor newspaper.

In a viral footage captured by one of the patient’s relatives at El Husseineya Central Hospital in Ash Sharqia province, it showed the patients lying dead and the nurses and doctors looking helpless.

The incident allegedly happened after the oxygen level was almost below 2% and there was neither enough pressure nor enough oxygen to save the patients’ lives.

It is the second such incident to occur after patients in the ICU at Zefta General Hospital suffered the same fate.

The tragedy has highlighted the negligence in handing the pandemic by the Egypt’s ruling government.
