Tragedy as bandits massacre 64 volunteer guards

Bandits have reportedly killed sixty-three vigilant group members in Zuru Emirate of Kebbi State.

The tragedy struck when the volunteer guards known as “ ‘Yan Sa Kai” launched an attack on a bandit’s den.

According to HAUSA service of British Broadcasting Corporation ( BBC), the bandits hid in trees and opened fire at the vigilantes, leading to the high casualties on the side of the guards who are usually not properly kitted and armed.

The affected victims have since been buried according to religious rites.

The victims were drawn from various towns and villages of the emirate.
