The face-off between tricycle operators and Kano state government continues as the organization warned that they will withdraw their services and go on a warning strike tomorrow Monday 22nd February 2021 over the failure of the state government to suspend the collections of N100 as daily tax.

The state Chairman of the Tricycle Owners Association, Alhaji Sani Dankoli, confirmed this, saying their members have decided to embark on warning strike without the union approval.

The chairman urged members to immediately suspend the planned strike saying that the strike would affect the movement of thousands of citizens across the state.

Recall that on Saturday, the operators took to the streets mobilizing themselves and distributing flyers on their plan to go on strike in the early hours of Monday after unfruitful meeting between the state government and their union.

Last week, they took over major roads protesting in Kano to show their grievances over the untold hardship they’re going through as a result of daily tax they’re paying the state government.
