Troops of the Nigerian Army have killed many Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists and recovered three gun trucks and weapons on Monday.

The incident occurred along the axis of Lawan Minaro Village between Maiduguri to Damaturu Road.

SAHELIAN TIMES gathered that the insurgents earlier staged an ambush on commuters on the road, destroying two trailers and one petrol tanker.

While confirming the incident, a Counter Insurgency Expert in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama, stated that both ground troops and an air task force were quickly dispatched to the scene to engage the terrorists.

He stated that when the troops arrived, the insurgents took to their heels, noting that some of them came down from their trucks and began running to avoid being bombarded by the Air Force Jet.

Many insurgents were killed, while others were wounded by bullets.
