A vigilante and four other passengers were killed by gunmen suspected to be bandits operating along the Sabon Gari-Kampani Road in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The vigilante and one other person were reportedly killed in an ambush, while the remaining three were killed by the bandits during a stop-and-search operation on Sunday.
According to a local, more than 20 passengers were kidnapped during the incident.
“The vigilante and one other person were riding a motorcycle from Sabon- Gari to Kampani when the bandits attacked them,” he explained. They murdered them and stole the motorcycle.
“Later, as the villagers returned home after market hours, they were apprehended and kidnapped.Three of them were assassinated.”
