The Wakilin Birnin Zazzau, Alhaji Suleiman Ibrahim Dabo, one of the suspended traditional tittle holders of Zazzau Emirate, has denied involvement in thuggery that rocked the emirate during the Eid el-Fitr durbar.
SAHELIAN TIMES reported how the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamali, suspended the Wakilin Birnin Zazzau, and four other district heads for violating the rules of horse riding in the emirate.
Others suspended are the Uban Garin Zazzau and District Head of Soba, Alhaji Bashir Shehu Idris; Sarkin Dajin Zazzau and District Head of Kubau, Alhaji Shehu Umar Aliyu; and Garkuwan Kudun Zazzau and Bursar, FCE Zaria, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Uwais.
In response to his suspension, Dabo, a member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly representing Zaria Constituency, claimed that thugs infiltrated his entourage during the durbar.
Speaking through his constituency aide, Ibrahim Hashim, Dabo stated that a video clip detailing the start of the horse riding to their arrival at the palace, including the point when the thugs encroached on them, had already been submitted to the emirate council for review.
He stated that the punitive measure imposed on him would be lifted after the council thoroughly examined the video clip.
