Why Kwankwaso settles for Bishop Idahosa as running mate

Presidential Candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party and Former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has announced Bishop Isaac Idahosa as his running mate for the 2023 Presidential Election.

Kwankwaso, who made this known in a statement by his aide, Muyi Fatosa, on Thursday evening, added that Idahosa, the presiding Bishop and Senior Pastor of the God First Ministry, Lekki Light Centre, Ajah, was selected from among more than 20 candidates.

“After careful considerations and meticulous screening of more than 20 prospective candidates all of whom were eminently qualified to run with him.

Idahosa was selected because of his outstanding record, his impeccable integrity, his broad understanding of the Nigerian State and its contemporary challenges, his undiluted commitment to improving the conditions of Nigerians, and his sincere believe that a New and Better Nigeria is possible if we work together with sincerity, tolerance, competence, and faith.”

The statement added that Idahosa will be presented to public next Monday, at the International Conference Centre, Abuja by 10am.

SAHELIAN Times, had earlier reported that Bishop Idahosa was considered for the baton alongside a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof Kingsley Moghalu, and a former Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke.
