The wife of Abdulmalik Tanko, the self-confessed killer teacher of a 5-year-old Kano pupil, has requested for a divorce letter from him.
Jamila Muhammad Sani, who was acquitted of the charges against her, stated that she is still young and thus cannot continue to wait for her husband who is standing a trial for suspected murder.
“I am happy that the court has finally cleared my name from the alleged murder,” the 30-year-old mother said.
“He should divorce me so that I can marry another man,” she added.
Jamila had earlier testified against her husband before a Kano High Court sitting at Audu Bako Secretariat.
