Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side Wikki Tourists of Bauchi were involved in an accident on Thursday morning as their team bus caught fire and burnt along Kibo road in Plateau State.
The ‘Giant Elephant’ were on their way to Uyo in Akwa Ibom State for a NPFL match match 11 encounter versus Dakkada FC at Godswil Akpabio stadium.
A video shared by one of the players, Damala Ezekeil on his Twitter handle showed how the bus caught fire beside the road.
He said ” The incident happened at Hawan Kibo village on our way to Akwa Ibom, two of our tyres burst before the bus caught the fire and burnt down”.
According to sources within the top tier club, no life was lost and nobody got injured in the accident.
