The incumbent Governor of Yobe State and current caretaker Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Mai Mala Buni, has secretly married Gumsu Abacha, the second daughter of Nigerian former Head of State, Gen Sani Abacha, as his fourth wife.
SAHELAIN TIMES gathered that the low key wedding took place at Gumsu’s elder brother’s house in December.
Gumsu was previously married to a Cameroonian business tycoon, Bayero Fadil Mohamadou, before the marriage broke in 2020.
A family source told the paper that the duo of Gumsu and Buni had been dating secretly before their marriage was solemnised in Abuja.
Gumsu already has five kids from her previous marriage, which reportedly broke over irreconcilable differences with her former husband.
Mai Mala is also married to the daughter of his political godfather, Senator Ibrahim Geidam, who serves as his third wife.
