A group of young people in Yobe state took to the streets in a rally showing support to the embattled Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Pantami over his alleged ties to extremist groups and his now renounced views on the groups.
The young men, carrying placards and signs that read, “Pantami is an icon of ICT”, “We stand with Pantami” among others, took to the streets of Yobe.
A section of Nigerians had since been calling for the resignation of the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Pantami, after an online news platform falsely alleged his ties with Al-Qaeda and the Taliban.
The Honourable Minister, reacting to the publication, denied having links with any of the terror group, alleging that an “entrenched group” are behind the incessant attack on his personality.
