Zamfara State launches e-commerce platform

Zamfara State Government has launched an e-commerce platform.

The State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Yazeed Shehu Danfulani in a statement disclosed that the platform named ” e- bajakoli” was launched to ” help eradicate idleness amongst our youths and make them more productive with their smartphones. “

According to him, ” one of the advantages of Social Media is that you can engage in legitimate businesses from the comfort of your home on your smartphone especially if you can’t afford a business shop outside your home.”

“In view of that, and to help encourage start-ups as well as fiscally stimulate existing small businesses at the grassroots,” the statement reads.

Sulaiman Abaje told SAHELIAN TIMES that the Zamfara State Ministry of Commerce and Industry has initiated a major change towards the progressive demands of the digital era.

The Commissioner also stated that the e-commerce platform called  “Za Online Shopper” or “ZAMFARA e-BAJAKOLI” is meant to give access to plenty of individuals doing small businesses at home via the internet or social media precisely, to meet their potential customers as well as get empowered by the state government in the process.

According to the statement, he said ” I feel immensely indebted to His Excellency, Governor Bello Matawalle for giving me this unique opportunity to serve my people.”

“I hope to make him proud, and leave behind a good legacy for the masses such as, the e-BAJAKOLI in order to assist small business owners, and revive the economy of the state as part of the ongoing interventions and empowerments encouraged by the Governor.”

The Commissioner also added that, “This phase of the program is strictly for the good people of Zamfara State, but we hope to explore and expand the program in the nearest future to accommodate other interested partners or digital entrepreneurs or participants from other states in the federation”.
