Zulum lauds European countries, laments poor support from Arab-Muslims countries

Borno state governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum said the state is getting help from European countries more than the Arab-Muslims countries in their fight against terrorism in the state.

Zulum said this yesterday Tuesday 5th January 2021 while receiving Palestinian ambassador, Saleh Fheied Saleh in the state capital Maiduguri.

” I am using the reality, since we found ourselves in security challenges we got supports from Britain, US, Canada, Japan and many European countries who showed their concern to our plight “. Said Zulum

He added that ” We tried to reach out some Arab countries through their Consulate offices especially rich countries but many of them didn’t care about us and they don’t want to help us”

Zulum also revealed the visit by the Palestinian ambassador as encouraging.

On his part, Ambassador Saleh Fheied said there are Borno state indigene living in Palestine and one of them named Fatima Barnawi was once a minister and she was a police officer.

According to Fheied “There are many companies owned by Palestinian that are willing to work with Borno state government and we will do everything we can to help you”.

For more than 10 years, Boko Haram conflict resulted the killing of more than 36,000 people in Northeast and other part of the country.
